How to Become a Part of the NHES Family
Once you have familiarized yourself with our program and decided that we might be a fit with your family, you are ready to begin the enrollment process.
- Fully complete the application. We depend upon you to help us get to know your child both socially and academically.
- Return the application along with your non-refundable application/registration fee to the school.
- Provide us with copies of your child's previous report cards and standardized test results. Request that your child's current school send us those directly.
- Provide us with the names and addresses of your child's most recent classroom teachers and/or other persons that are knowledgeable about your child as a learner. A confidential recommendation survey will be sent to each of these individuals for completion.
We'll place your child's completed enrollment package on file until our Enrollment Committee meets in December, February, and at other times as needed.
NHES offers one type of educational program that works very well for many students. However, our program is not universally appropriate for all students. Our Enrollment Committee will carefully review your child's application package. Prospective students need to blend both socially and academically with the other learners in a group. While we are able to accommodate some milder learning differences, we are not equipped to realistically provide services to those children experiencing profound barriers to successful group learning.
Priority for enrollment is given to siblings of NHES students and alumni families. At kindergarten, priority may be given to older children, however all children must by 5 years old by August 31. Every effort is made to balance the boy/girl ratio in each class of 16 children. We reserve the right to request a visitation with your child and to request educational testing.
No later than one week after our Enrollment Committee meets, you will receive a letter that lets you know the status of your child's application. If you are offered a space, you will have one week to accept or decline and remit a non-refundable enrollment fee of $700. All admissions are subject to the approval of the NHES Board of Directors.
Please call us if you have or would like to schedule a tour or consultation with one of our staff members.
